Job Summary

Sage Therapy Chicago is currently seeking a provisionally-licensed or pre-licensed mental health therapist to work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative therapist to join our supportive and fun team! We incorporate a hybrid model of services, including telehealth, to the greater Chicago area, in-person sessions at our downtown office (155 N Michigan Ave)/or Wicker Park office (1811 W North Ave), and/or Lakeview Office (3047 N Lincoln Ave), and group therapy. In-person sessions and group therapy are 100% optional to clinicians as we support the choice to work completely remote.  The position has the option to start off as either full-time or part-time. If part-time, there is the option and opportunity to become full-time as your caseload grows. 

We provide the tools you need so that you can focus your energy on building your caseload and providing excellent quality mental health treatment for your clients. Resources provided by Sage Therapy include: marketing to obtain a steady stream of clients for you, billing and credentialing services, liability insurance, on-boarding new clients, and office space if/when seeing clients in person. This position includes competitive pay and flexibility with regard to total number of hours and available days and times. Clinicians must be open to work evenings and/or weekends.

We provide 1:1 weekly supervision to pre and provisionally licensed therapists and optional weekly group consultation to all. Additionally, we offer opportunities for professional growth through program development, community outreach and creative endeavors through blogging, videos, workshops, presentations, social media and brand development. We offer in-house trainings for CEUs as well as funding toward external CEU credits and trainings of your choice, lunch and learns, all staff meetings and consultation groups. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent, evidence-based therapy; full-time clinicians are expected to conduct at least 80+ sessions/month with clients
  • Help clients develop skills and set tangible goals to improve mental health
  • Other appropriate and related therapeutic services, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Provisionally-Licensed or Pre-Licensed in the state of Illinois: LPC, LSW, MFT
  • Adherence to standards of service operations, documentation, and confidentiality at all times
  • Must be independent, driven, open-minded, compassionate, interpersonal, and a team player
  • Must be interested and excited to be part of a growing practice;
  • Embrace a growth mindset - you feel confident in your abilities as a therapist and are also willing to learn
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and organizational/time management skills
  • Have experience working with adults, adolescents and/or couples
  • Have experience working with psychosocial issues such as work/life balance, stress management, depression, relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, substance abuse, and life transitions
  • Ability to use electronic/digital devices and applications for long, uninterrupted periods of time

Education:

  • Master's (Required)

Experience:

  • Practicum with experience in direct client care
  • Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications
  • Experience in an outpatient setting (preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Licensed, Pre-Licensed or soon to be Pre-Licensed in IL - LPC, LSW, MFT

Physical Needs & Equipment

  • A quiet, private (confidential) space;
  • A web camera (built into laptop/desktop);
  • Laptop, iPad, or computer that is capable of streaming video;
  • Great internet connection (must be able to stream without an issue).

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Evenings (required)
  • Weekends (required)
  • Will collaboratively set your schedule/hours in a 1:1 meeting with the Owner of the practice to times that meet the needs of the practice and fit your schedule.
  • Given the nature of private practice and the necessity of seeing clients at times that work best for them, clinicians must be willing to work evenings during the week and/or one day over the weekend.

Work Setting:

  • This position is predominately remote through teletherapy, with opportunities to see clients in-person (optional) at our downtown office as well as provide group therapy (optional) in person and/or remotely.

Compensation

$45 -$59 an hour depending on licensure and experience

Associate Therapist - Full Time

Job Summary

Sage Therapy Chicago is a private mental health group seeking a part-time Billing Specialist to join our growing organization! We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented professional to help support our in-house billing.

The Billing Specialist acts as both a customer service liaison when helping clients navigate their insurance and billing needs, while also supporting essential administrative duties including verifying benefits, submitting claims and processing payment information. This position will work closely with our other members of our Billing team. 

The hours for this position are M-F from 8am-12pm, but we can offer some flexibility around these hours. This position includes competitive pay, accrued time off, and retirement plan options with employer contributions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Billing Routines

  • Support daily communication with clients regarding missed appointment/late fee charges, outstanding balances, and payment plans.
  • Complete manual quality assurance updates within our TN system related to contracted insurance rates, pre-authorization, co-pays, insurance frequency. 
  • Collect payment for therapy services rendered and for missed appointment fees.
  • Process Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs)
  • Monitor claims status and follow-up for unpaid claims over 30 days.
  • Check reasons for denied claims; communicate with insurance companies to problem solve and resubmit denied claims.

Customer Service

  • Respond effectively to clients regarding billing questions in a warm and helpful manner.
  • Verify client benefits and communicate expected service fees/insurance coverage/out-of-pocket responsibility to clients. 
  • Document confidential billing information within our Electronic Medical Record systems (we use Availity and Therapy Notes).

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate and work alongside the billing manager and billing team members to achieve practice goals.
  • Attend weekly billing department meetings; meet with Billing Manager for one-on-one’s monthly; attend required quarterly practice all staff meetings.
  • Manage and maintain required compliance items including, but not limited to safeguarding all client PHI under HIPAA and maintaining routines related to cybersecurity.

  • Experience with Insurance aging
