Who We Are
A therapist-owned practice in Chicago. We started Sage in 2020 with a simple idea: the relationship between you and your therapist is what makes therapy work.

Our Story
Sage Therapy started in October 2020 with a simple belief: everyone deserves a therapist who truly sees them.
We were founded from a deep passion for creating mental healthcare that's supportive and reliable, for clients of every age, background, and identity. Not a platform backed by investors. A practice built by therapists.
We've grown since then, but the heart of Sage hasn't changed. We still believe taking care of your mental health matters, because you matter. And we're still working to break down the outdated stigmas that keep people from the support they deserve.

Mission
To create a space where people feel heard, understood, and supported, and where therapists are empowered to do their best work. We don't just provide therapy. We invest in the relationships that make it meaningful.

Vision
A world where mental healthcare feels less like a last resort and more like a natural part of life. Where asking for help isn't something people whisper about. Where connection—between client and therapist, between knowledge and practice—drives how healing happens.

Values
Relationships
Everything starts here. The relationship between a client and their therapist is the foundation of real change, and we treat it that way: with intention, care, and respect. And we invest in our team relationships too, because a supported therapist is a better therapist.
Education
We're committed to learning, and to sharing what we learn. Through our internship program, training workshops, and ongoing clinician development, we help shape the next generation of mental health professionals. A solid foundation leads to better outcomes. It's that simple.
Wellness
Therapy isn't just about managing symptoms. It's about building a life that feels whole. So we take a broader view of mental health, one that honors every dimension of a person's experience: emotional, relational, and personal.
Transparency
We say what we mean. Whether it's how we communicate with clients, how we make decisions as a team, or how we show up in the therapy room, transparency builds the trust that everything else depends on. No hidden agendas, just honesty.

A note from our founder
“As a therapist and practice owner, I know what it feels like to be undervalued. That experience shapes everything about how we run Sage. I want our clients to feel heard. I want our therapists to feel respected. And I want this practice to be a place where people can own their stories and use them to move forward.”
