It’s fairly accurate to say that I am a person consumed with curiosity about the nervous system and the human brain. I eagerly devour the research of, among others, Dr. Stephen Porges, Dr. Gabor Maté, Deb Dana, LCSW, Dr. Dan Siegel, Tricia Hersey, MDiv, and Jessica Baum, LMHC, and have incorporated that research into my personal and clinical practice for over 2 years. I work from an ever-growing trauma-informed and anti-colonialist approach, and rely largely on polyvagal theory, acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), sensorimotor psychotherapy, mindfulness, indigenous healing practices, and body movement to support the work I do with clients.

The Brain, The Body, The Basics: Finding Regulation that Lasts

In this workshop, we will explore tools and interventions to support sustained shifts in autonomic responses and lead to increased overall nervous system regulation. Participants will learn paths for bringing neuroception into awareness and shifting autonomic experiences.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

1. Understand neuroception and its role in behavioral responses
2. Learn interventions and tools to support clients in shifting autonomic responses
3. Learn interventions and tools to support clients in building sustained ANS regulation

To get the most out of this workshop, it is recommended, though not necessary, that participants watch/review the two previous "The Brain, The Body, The Basics" workshops found in our on-demand resources at sagetherapytraining.com.
