About

Jennifer Powers

“Whether you’re exploring your identity, navigating relationships, or challenging societal expectations, I’m here to support that journey with openness and curiosity.”

Why I became a therapist

I’ve always been deeply curious about how people think, feel, and relate to the world around them. I’m fascinated by the ways our experiences and relationships shape who we are and how we show up. That curiosity led me to therapy, not just as a profession, but as a way to support people in navigating the complexities of being themselves in a world that doesn’t always make space for difference. I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. I strive to offer a space where clients can explore their identities, unpack their experiences without judgment, and build a life that reflects their own values, not someone else’s idea of “normal.” Walking alongside people in that process is deeply meaningful to me, and always a privilege.

Who I work with

I work with a diverse range of individuals navigating personal, relational, and emotional challenges. I support adults and emerging adults who may be facing life transitions, identity exploration, or the uncertainty of a quarter-life crisis. I support those managing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and self-esteem, while fostering growth in self-acceptance and identity development. My practice is affirming and inclusive, offering a safe, supportive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those exploring gender identity. I’m sex-positive, kink-affirming, and experienced in working with clients in polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous (ENM) relationships. I also work with couples to strengthen communication, address attachment dynamics, and navigate relationship challenges. Rooted in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration, my goal is to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

“My approach blends several modalities, always grounded in deep respect for your unique identity and lived experience.”

Working With Me

In our work together, I strive to create a warm, inclusive space where you feel truly seen and supported. My approach blends several modalities, always grounded in deep respect for your unique identity and lived experience. Drawing from Queer Theory, I affirm and celebrate all expressions of self and relationship especially those outside traditional norms. Whether you're exploring identity, navigating relationships, or challenging societal expectations, I’m here with openness and curiosity. I also incorporate tools from DBT to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and communication, and use ACT to help clients connect with their values and take meaningful steps toward an authentic, fulfilling life. Above all, I want you to feel empowered to be your full self, build resilience, and live in alignment with what matters most to you.
