“I have found therapy to be profoundly impactful, fostering personal empowerment and resilience.”

Why I became a therapist

During my time as a manager at an art store near Southside Chicago, I encountered numerous people who had never been exposed to art attending our demo days. As I created art with them, I learned how inaccessible art was, and its negative impact on them and their community. The conversation naturally became more intimate, resembling what could be considered art therapy, which inspired me to want to help others through art. Having experienced therapy myself, I have found it to be profoundly impactful, fostering personal empowerment and resilience in my life. Echoing the views of psychologist Alfred Adler, I want to give back to the community. I hope to help others have a positive therapy experience by creating a safe space where they can explore and experiment

Who I work with

I work with individuals of all ages and with couples, in all phases of their relationship. I offer inclusive, trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing trauma (intergenerational, transgenerational, racial, medical, sexual), grief, disenfranchised grief, identity exploration (race, culture, sexuality, gender), anxiety, stress, depression, suicide, self-harm, life transitions, and exploration of life after diagnosis of disability or illness. My approach with couples is sex-positive and kink-affirming, addressing relational issues such as conflict resolution, communication, interracial challenges, rebuilding trust, substance abuse, and financial difficulties. I provide care to all populations with a focus on BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent communities.

"Art therapy emphasizes the creative journey rather than the finished product. Anyone can experience healing, self-discovery, and personal growth through making art, regardless of their art background."

Working With Me

I believe it’s important to know your therapist, and I’d like to offer a little insight into who I am. My background includes identities and experiences as a biracial Korean/Mexican, queer, widow, neurodivergent, and a woman living with a chronic disability. As your therapist, I draw on these experiences to better understand and support yours, following your lead and meeting you where you are. You know yourself best, and together we will tailor sessions to align with your priorities and needs. Whatever brings you to therapy, I encourage openness, full self-expression, and a focus on what matters most to you. While I offer talk therapy, I recognize that expressing emotions and thoughts can be difficult for some clients. Art can be a powerful, nonverbal alternative. Drawing on my bachelor’s in fine arts and an integrative approach gained from my master’s program, I use art therapy to help clients make the most of each session, focusing on the creative process rather than the final product.

My Qualifications and trainings
